Terms of Service

Explorust is a travel product operated by Kyle Francis. By using it you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, don’t use the product. We’ve written this in plain English on purpose — if anything is unclear, email hello@explorust.com.

You need an account to use Explorust. You’re responsible for what happens under your account, including keeping your sign-in email secure. One person per account — don’t share logins. You must be at least 13 to use Explorust; if you’re under 18, your parent or guardian should be aware.

You can:

• Create trips and add flights, hotels, reservations, and ideas.
• Forward travel emails to trips@in.explorust.com so we can extract them for you.
• Share trips with the people traveling with you.
• Export your data at any time.

You can’t:

• Use Explorust to do anything illegal.
• Upload content you don’t own or don’t have permission to share.
• Abuse, overload, reverse-engineer, or scrape the service, or try to extract other users’ data.
• Impersonate someone else, or build a competing product using our API or content.
• Use Explorust as a hostile ingestion pipe — sending spam, malware, or high-volume automated imports we didn’t agree to.

The trips, notes, and saves you create are yours. You grant Explorust a limited license to store, display, and process them so we can provide the service to you and anyone you’ve explicitly shared a trip with. We don’t claim ownership, we don’t sell your content, and we don’t use it to train generalized AI models.

If you delete content, we remove it on the schedule in our Privacy Policy.

When you forward email or share links with us, you’re telling us it’s okay to read and extract travel-related information from those messages. If Gmail crawl is enabled later, we handle that Google data under our Privacy Policy and the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Links and media you share to Explorust from Instagram, TikTok, Safari, or anywhere else — you’re responsible for having the right to share them. We don’t store or republish anything beyond what’s needed to show it on your trip.

If you use Explorust on iOS or iPadOS, your use is additionally governed by the Apple Media Services Terms and the Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the “Apple EULA”). You acknowledge that these Terms are between you and Explorust only, not Apple, and that Apple is not responsible for the app or its content. Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms and may enforce them against you.

If you sign in with Apple, Apple shares your identifier and either your real or private-relay email with us, per your selection. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle it.

Explorust can introduce you to an independent travel advisor when you ask. Advisors are not employees of Explorust — they operate their own businesses and set their own fees, service terms, and booking arrangements. Explorust is not a travel agency and does not sell travel; any booking or commission is between you and the advisor (and their suppliers).

Explorust is free during the private alpha. If and when we introduce paid tiers, we’ll tell you in advance and you’ll get a chance to decide before anything changes. Paid features will be covered by a subscription agreement that references these Terms.

You can stop using Explorust at any time. Delete your account from the settings page and we’ll remove your data per the Privacy Policy.

We can change or discontinue the service, with reasonable notice for material changes. If we materially change these Terms, we’ll update this page and email you. Continued use after changes means you accept them.

We can suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, abuse the service, or create legal risk for us or other users.

Explorust is provided “as is.” We do our best to parse emails and links correctly, but Claude and our extraction pipeline can be wrong. Don’t rely on Explorust as the only record of your travel plans — always confirm times, dates, and confirmation numbers with the airline, hotel, or booking site before you travel. We are not responsible for missed flights, wrong addresses, or other travel mishaps arising from an extraction error.

We disclaim all implied warranties to the fullest extent the law allows, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Explorust and Kyle Francis will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits or data, arising out of your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim related to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or $100 — whichever is greater.

These Terms are governed by the laws of [STATE — fill in], without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in [STATE — fill in], and you consent to jurisdiction there.
